Time-limited
The rebate your code stacks onto expires 31 August
Tuas's current campaign pays a $120 rebate on PowerFIX 24 or $200 on PowerFIX 36 — and you can take either as a grocery e-voucher instead of a bill credit. Add the S$20 from this referral code and PowerFIX 36 is worth up to S$220.
Both the end date and the 500-customer cap are Tuas's, from the campaign terms dated 3 Aug 2026. If you're reading this after 31 August, check what replaced it — Tuas has re-priced roughly monthly through 2026.
The reason to pick Tuas
Free insurance is the perk no other retailer offers
Singapore's six major electricity retailers compete on rate and rebate. Tuas is the only one that puts something in the box that isn't money off your bill.
| Retailer | 24-mth rate | Max rebate | Free insurance | Rebate as voucher |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Tuas Power | 29.80¢ | $120 | 12 mths | Yes |
| PacificLight | 27.50¢ | up to $140 | None | No |
| Geneco | 29.80¢ | up to $255 | None | No |
| Senoko Energy | 29.80¢ | up to $228 | None | No |
| Keppel Electric | 29.80¢ | up to $125 | None | No |
| Sembcorp Power | 29.80¢ | — | None | No |
What the free insurance actually is
Twelve months of complimentary cover, and you choose one of three: Home, Travel, or Personal Accident. It's arranged through Professional Investment Advisory Services and underwritten by Singlife. Cover starts 14 days after your application. It's open to new customers and renewing ones, on any plan of 12 months or longer — so unlike the referral credit, you don't need a 24-month contract to get it.
One honest caveat: Tuas doesn't publish the sums assured or coverage limits for any of the three options — the terms tell you to contact the adviser for details. So treat it as a real perk of unknown size, not a quantified $X of value. Worth asking what the Home cover actually pays out before you count it toward your decision.
Why the grocery-voucher option matters more than it sounds
A bill rebate only pays off if you stay — leave early and Tuas claws the whole thing back. A grocery e-voucher is spendable the moment it arrives. If you want the incentive as something you actually hold rather than a credit sitting against future bills, Tuas is the only one of the six offering that choice.
Read this before you sign up
Only PowerFIX 24 and PowerFIX 36 earn the referral
Tuas's referral terms limit the reward to PowerFIX 24 and PowerFIX 36, signed up online. PowerFIX 12, PowerDOT 6, and anything signed at a roadshow do not qualify — the field is there but the credit never comes.
| Who | Reward | Paid out |
|---|---|---|
| You, as the new customer | S$20 | Second or third bill after transfer |
| Whoever referred you (tier 1) | S$20 | Notified within 3–6 weeks |
| Referrer, tier 2 your referral refers someone | S$10 | Same |
| Referrer, tier 3 | S$5 | Same |
The tiered structure is unusual — most retailers pay a flat referral. With Tuas, if the person you refer goes on to refer someone else, you keep earning down to three levels, up to $35 per chain, with no cap on how many people you refer.
A discrepancy worth knowing about: Tuas's Refer a Friend page states that "you and your friend" each get $20, and customer reports on Seedly are consistent with the new customer receiving it. But the programme's own terms document only spells out the referrer's side of the payment. Your S$20 is very likely, and it's what Tuas advertises — it just isn't written into the contract terms. Nothing to lose by entering the code either way.
Four steps
How to use the code
- Copy RCC6MWL
The field is labelled "Campaign / Referral Code" and it appears during checkout, not after.
- Pick PowerFIX 24 or PowerFIX 36
These are the only two plans the referral applies to. PowerFIX 36 also carries the bigger $200 rebate.
- Paste the code before you submit
It can't be added later, and support can't apply it retroactively.
- Watch for it on bill two or three
Not the first bill. Referral status also shows in Tuas's T+ Portal once the transfer completes.
Choosing
Which Tuas Power plan to pick
| Plan | Rate incl GST | Before GST | Term | Rebate | Referral |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| PowerFIX 36 | 29.40¢ | 26.97¢ | 36 mth | $200 | Eligible |
| PowerFIX 24 | 29.80¢ | 27.34¢ | 24 mth | $120 | Eligible |
| PowerFIX 12 | 31.00¢ | 28.44¢ | 12 mth | — | No reward |
| PowerFIX 25 G+ green | 32.70¢ | — | 25 mth | $100 | No reward |
| PowerDOT 6 | 10% off tariff | — | 6 mth | — | No reward |
PowerFIX 36 is the one to take. It's cheaper per kWh than PowerFIX 24, carries the larger $200 rebate, and still earns the referral. The catch is the term — three years, with a $200 termination charge and full rebate clawback if you leave. Note there is no longer a fixed 6-month plan: PowerFIX 6 appears on an outdated page on Tuas's own site but no current factsheet exists for it. PowerDOT 6 is a floating tariff discount, not a fixed rate.
The honest trade-off
Tuas is not the cheapest per kWh. Here's what the gap actually costs.
PacificLight is cheaper on rate. But after Tuas's $200 rebate, the difference over a full three-year contract is smaller than most people assume.
Total electricity cost over 36 months for a 4-room HDB flat using 388.5 kWh a month, Singapore's average. The Tuas figure is net of the $200 rebate.
So: about $3 a month
The gap works out at roughly $3.07 a month over three years. That's the real question, and it's a small enough number that the perks decide it: if 12 months of free insurance and the option to take $200 as groceries are worth more than $3 a month to you, Tuas is the better deal. If they aren't, take the cheaper rate.
One caveat in Tuas's favour and one against. In favour: PacificLight's rebate is smaller, so the true gap is narrower than $111. Against: Tuas has raised its rates roughly monthly through 2026 — from 27.68¢ in March to 29.80¢ now — while PacificLight held. A fixed rate is fixed once you sign, so this only matters for what you'd be quoted next month, not after.
Questions
Frequently asked
Does this Tuas Power referral code still work?
Yes, as at 21 August 2026. Tuas's Refer a Friend programme runs from 1 January to 31 December 2026, and referral codes are tied to a customer account rather than a campaign, so they don't expire mid-year. A code that appears not to work almost always means the selected plan isn't eligible.
How much is the Tuas Power referral reward?
S$20 off the bill. Tuas's Refer a Friend page says both the new customer and the referrer get S$20; the referrer's side is also tiered, earning S$10 at the second level and S$5 at the third, up to S$35 per referral chain. The new customer's S$20 is credited on the second or third bill after the transfer completes.
Which Tuas Power plans are eligible for the referral code?
Only PowerFIX 24 and PowerFIX 36, signed up online. PowerFIX 12, PowerFIX 25 G+, PowerDOT 6, and any sign-up done at a roadshow do not qualify.
Can the referral code be stacked with the sign-up rebate?
Tuas's current campaign rebate ($120 on PowerFIX 24, $200 on PowerFIX 36) and the S$20 referral credit are separate programmes, and customer reports describe receiving both — up to S$220 on PowerFIX 36. Tuas doesn't state the stacking explicitly in either set of terms, so treat the combined figure as likely rather than guaranteed.
What is the free insurance that comes with Tuas Power plans?
Twelve months of complimentary cover, choosing one of Home, Travel or Personal Accident. It's arranged through Professional Investment Advisory Services and underwritten by Singlife, with cover starting 14 days after application. It's available to both new and renewing residential customers on any plan of 12 months or longer.
Tuas doesn't publish the sums assured or coverage limits, so ask the adviser what the cover actually pays before counting it toward your decision.
Is Tuas Power cheaper than PacificLight?
No, not on rate. As at August 2026 Tuas PowerFIX 24 is 29.80¢/kWh and PowerFIX 36 is 29.40¢, against PacificLight's 27.50¢ and 27.18¢ — all including GST. Over a 36-month contract on average household usage that's about $311 more with Tuas, narrowing to roughly $111 after Tuas's $200 rebate, or about $3 a month. Tuas's case rests on the free insurance and the grocery-voucher option, not on price.
Does Tuas Power still have a 6-month fixed plan?
No. PowerFIX 6 still appears on an outdated promotions page on Tuas's own site, but there's no current factsheet for it and it isn't on the live plans page. The only 6-month option is PowerDOT 6, which is a 10% discount off the regulated tariff — a floating rate, not a fixed one.
What happens if I terminate my Tuas Power contract early?
A $200 early termination charge applies on every PowerFIX and PowerDOT plan, and Tuas claws back the full value of any bill rebate already paid — including the referral credit. That's on top of losing the fixed rate. Worth weighing before taking the 36-month plan for its larger rebate.
Will my U-Save rebates still apply if I switch to Tuas Power?
Yes. Billing stays with SP Group after you switch retailer, so U-Save and GST Voucher rebates continue to offset your bill automatically with nothing for you to do. This is true of any Open Electricity Market retailer, not just Tuas.
