The end date is Tuas's own, from its campaign page, read 13 October 2026 — the offer was due to close on 11 October and has been extended to 1 November. It replaced the National Day offer (ONSGDAY26, $120/$200) that ran to 31 August 2026 — the rebate is smaller, and unlike the National Day offer it is a bill credit only, with no grocery e-voucher option. Tuas no longer advertises a 500-sign-up cap on this campaign. If you're reading this after 1 November, check what replaced it — Tuas has re-priced roughly monthly through 2026.

Singapore's six major electricity retailers compete on rate and rebate. Tuas is the only one that puts something in the box that isn't money off your bill.

What the free insurance actually is
Twelve months of complimentary cover, and you choose one of three: Home, Travel, or Personal Accident. It's arranged through Professional Investment Advisory Services and underwritten by Singlife. Cover starts 14 days after your application. It's open to new customers and renewing ones, on any plan of 12 months or longer — so unlike the referral credit, you don't need a 24-month contract to get it.
One honest caveat: Tuas doesn't publish the sums assured or coverage limits for any of the three options — the terms tell you to contact the adviser for details. So treat it as a real perk of unknown size, not a quantified $X of value. Worth asking what the Home cover actually pays out before you count it toward your decision.
The rebate is a bill credit, and that has a catch
Tuas's National Day campaign let you take the rebate as a grocery e-voucher instead of a bill credit. The ONLINE campaign that replaced it on 1 September does not — it is a bill credit only. That matters because a bill credit only pays off if you stay: leave early and Tuas claws the whole thing back, on top of the $200 termination charge. The free insurance, not the rebate, is now the thing Tuas has that the others don't.

Only PowerFIX 24 and PowerFIX 36 earn the referral
Tuas's referral terms limit the reward to PowerFIX 24 and PowerFIX 36, signed up online. PowerFIX 12, PowerDOT 6, and anything signed at a roadshow do not qualify — the field is there but the credit never comes.

The tiered structure is unusual — most retailers pay a flat referral. With Tuas, if the person you refer goes on to refer someone else, you keep earning down to three levels, up to $35 per chain, with no cap on how many people you refer.
A discrepancy worth knowing about: Tuas's Refer a Friend page states that "you and your friend" each get $20, and customer reports on Seedly are consistent with the new customer receiving it. But the programme's own terms document only spells out the referrer's side of the payment. Your S$20 is very likely, and it's what Tuas advertises — it just isn't written into the contract terms. Nothing to lose by entering the code either way.

PowerFIX 36 is the one to take, if you take Tuas at all. It's cheaper per kWh than PowerFIX 24, carries the larger $160 rebate, and still earns the referral. Note PowerFIX 24 at 30.90¢ is now only 0.26¢ under the regulated tariff, so on that plan switching barely pays for itself before the rebate. The catch is the term — three years, with a $200 termination charge and full rebate clawback if you leave. Note there is no longer a fixed 6-month plan: PowerFIX 6 appears on an outdated page on Tuas's own site but no current factsheet exists for it. PowerDOT 6 is a floating tariff discount, not a fixed rate.
The honest trade-off
Tuas is no longer the cheap option. Here's what that means.
The two moved in opposite directions in October. PacificLight cut its 36-month rate to 28.90¢ on 8 October; Tuas raised its to 30.63¢ on the same day. Tuas is now 1.73¢ dearer per kWh, and its $160 rebate does not close the gap.
Total electricity cost over 36 months for a 4-room HDB flat using 388.5 kWh a month, Singapore's average. The Tuas figure is already net of its $160 rebate; the PacificLight figure is before any rebate, and its own factsheet advertises up to $250 with specific promo codes. Senoko's LifePower36 matches PacificLight at 28.90¢, so PacificLight is level with the market rather than uniquely cheapest. The SP figure uses the Q4 2026 regulated tariff of 31.16¢ including GST, down 10.4% on 1 October.
So: the rate no longer decides it
Three years on Tuas PowerFIX 36 costs about $4,284, or $4,124 after its $160 rebate. The same three years on PacificLight Savvy Saver 36 costs about $4,042 before any rebate at all — so Tuas loses by roughly $82 even with its rebate counted and PacificLight's ignored. If PacificLight's advertised $250 applies to you, the gap is nearer $330. The honest position: take Tuas for the free insurance if you value it above that, and otherwise take the cheaper rate.
Worth knowing how fast this moves. SP's regulated tariff fell 10.4% on 1 October, to 31.16¢ including GST. Most retailers followed it down — PacificLight cut its 36-month plan 29.40¢ → 28.90¢ and its 24-month 29.80¢ → 29.00¢ on 8 October, and Senoko and Geneco sit at the same levels. Tuas went the other way on 6–8 October, raising its 36-month 29.40¢ → 30.63¢ and its 24-month 29.80¢ → 30.90¢. A fixed rate is fixed once you sign, so this matters for what you'd be quoted next month, not afterwards.

Does this Tuas Power referral code still work?
Yes, as at 13 October 2026. Tuas's Refer a Friend programme runs from 1 January to 31 December 2026, and referral codes are tied to a customer account rather than a campaign, so they don't expire mid-year. A code that appears not to work almost always means the selected plan isn't eligible.
How much is the Tuas Power referral reward?
S$20 off the bill. Tuas's Refer a Friend page says both the new customer and the referrer get S$20; the referrer's side is also tiered, earning S$10 at the second level and S$5 at the third, up to S$35 per referral chain. Is Tuas Power cheaper than PacificLight?
No — PacificLight is cheaper, as at 13 October 2026. The two repriced in opposite directions in October: PacificLight cut to 28.90¢ on 36 months and 29.00¢ on 24, while Tuas rose to 30.63¢ and 30.90¢. That is about 1.7¢/kWh, or roughly $242 over three years at average usage — more than Tuas's $160 rebate recovers. Tuas's remaining advantage is the 12 months of free insurance, which no rival offers. If you don't value that, PacificLight is the cheaper choice on both rate and advertised rebate.
Does Tuas Power still have a 6-month fixed plan?
No. PowerFIX 6 still appears on an outdated promotions page on Tuas's own site, but there's no current factsheet for it and it isn't on the live plans page. The only 6-month option is PowerDOT 6, which is a 10% discount off the regulated tariff — a floating rate, not a fixed one.
What happens if I terminate my Tuas Power contract early?
A $200 early termination charge applies on every PowerFIX and PowerDOT plan, and Tuas claws back the full value of any bill rebate already paid — including the referral credit. That's on top of losing the fixed rate. Worth weighing before taking the 36-month plan for its larger rebate.
Will my U-Save rebates still apply if I switch to Tuas Power?
Yes. Billing stays with SP Group after you switch retailer, so U-Save and GST Voucher rebates continue to offset your bill automatically with nothing for you to do. This is true of any Open Electricity Market retailer, not just Tuas.
